We continue the new season of London's ONLY weekly fusion of stand-up poetry, performance comedy and spokenword, with what promises to be yet another excellent night...



Roddy Lumsden: feature length reading from the acclaimed poet and author of the
collections: ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah’, ‘The Book of Love’ (Bloodaxe) and ‘Roddy Lumsden is dead’ (Wrecking Ball Press). Poetry that shifts effortlessly between the delicate, intricate and the accessible.


Gareth Jones: winner of SHORTFUSE Poetry Idol 3. Poetry with observational subtlety and literary preciseness from one of the brightest up and coming London based poets.


Wayne Smith: winner of SHORTFUSE Poetry Idol 6. A hip playful take on contemporary culture and poetry. A sharp young talent with a future to watch.

Thursday 2nd February: Feature length set of magic and comedy from the star of Channel 4's Dirty Tricks - Pete Firman. Plus Elvis McGonagall, and Richard Johnson.


 


Thursday 16th February: we present the world's first Speed Poetry event -


Think Speed Dating but with literary chat-up lines, intelligence, wit, and an opportunity to meet some of London’s finest poetry and spokenword performers face-to-face.


Each poet will spend 8 minutes per table and let their personality and poetry do the talking. The performers include: Niall O’Sullivan, Heather Taylor, Paul Lyalls, Rhian Edwards, Dean Wilson, Sally Smithson and Tim Wells.


 


Speed Poetry could be your perfect introduction to a new relationship with literature. 
Couples, singles, and groups of any number welcome. Who you wake up with in the morning is your own business.



Tickets are limited so booking is recommended.


 


Thursday 23rd February: A feature length set from Tim Wells reading from his new collection 'Boys' night out in the afternoon'. Plus Annie Freud, and a very special guest poet from New York: Thaddeus Rutkowski.

Thursday 6th April: SHORTFUSE 6TH BIRTHDAY SPECIAL> come join us for our 6th Birthday celebrations with a feature length performance from John Hegley. Plus Poetry Idol 6 winner Kate Fox, and one of our new favourite acts Martin White.


 


Thursday 13th April: after our 6th Birthday celebrations I think we deserve a short holiday, so NO SHOW THIS WEEK but we return next week:
