This week, London's ONLY weekly fusion of stand-up poetry, performance comedy and spokenword brings you another fantastic mixed line up of three performers at the top of their game:


Andrew Bailey:

Thursday 16th February: we present the world's first Speed Poetry event -


Think Speed Dating but with literary chat-up lines, intelligence, wit, and an opportunity to meet some of London’s finest poetry and spokenword performers face-to-face.


Each poet will spend 8 minutes per table and let their personality and poetry do the talking. The performers include: Niall O’Sullivan, Heather Taylor, Paul Lyalls, Rhian Edwards, Dean Wilson, Sally Smithson and Tim Wells.


 


Speed Poetry could be your perfect introduction to a new relationship with literature. 
Couples, singles, and groups of any number welcome. Who you wake up with in the morning is your own business.

Tim Wells:

How does it work?
The six performers will perform for 10 minutes each, and then YOU the audience will vote for their favourite acts. The winning two acts will both be given a full length paid set later in the year. Previous winners have gone on to secure regular full length sets at various other spokenword events accross the country including Express Excess, Apples & Snakes, 5 star Edinburgh Fringe shows, and BBC radio apperances. Thursday 27th April: A feature length performance from legendary stand-up and storyteller Bob Boyton performing from his hit one man show. Plus the second of a fortnight residence from Barry Jones and Stuart Macleod - stars of Channel 4's 'Tricks from the Bible' and 'Dirty Tricks' - performing a different set. And the second of our POETRY IDOL 7 winners perform their full length set.


 


Thursday 4th May: A full length performance from stand-up star of the new BBC cult comedy show Hyperdrive. Plus the preview preview of the SHORTFUSE Edinburgh Fringe 2006 show - featuring Suzanne Andrade, Ritchie Scurvey, Rhian Edwards and Nathan Penlington.
