THURSDAY 21ST SEPTEMBER 2006

After our summer break from our weekly status as London's only weekly fusion of stand-up poetry, performance comedy and spokenword we return this week to our long running Thursday night slot. During our break we took 'Invisible Ink' - a new format spokenword show - plus a series of our wor(l)d renowned 'Poetry Idol' Contests - to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Plus, in conjunction with Tim Wells, Nathan Penlington hosted and co-organised the red room as part of the Brick Lane Festival at the Vibe Bar, which also included another Poetry Idol. So, for our first show back we bring you a collection of winners new and old that prove that the UK poetry scene is vibrant and producing a vast range of top quality poets and performers.

Liz Bentley the first ever Poetry Idol Rival Idol winner performs a feature length set of her own brand of dark-edged life-affirming comedy-poetry-cabaret.

"Superbly crafted character...The humour is wonderfully subtle... dark, a little bit frightenning, and definately one of my fringe highlights." THREE WEEKS ***** Edinburgh Fringe Festival

Sian Robin-Grace the winner of the 2nd Poetry Idol Edinburgh Fringe 2006 special brings her beautiful blend of observation, wit and well crafted verse to N1.

Rachel Pantechnichon - runner up of both Poetry Idol Edinburgh and Brick Lane Festival. Cat-fixated poet Rachel Pantechnicon presents a plethora of verses and stories. Some with drawings.
