SHORTFUSE
an electrifying weekly fusion of stand-up poetry and spokenword
This week at SHORTFUSE we bring you four of London's finest poets that blur the line between page and stage: TIM WELLS - the oblique bleak bloke that is the editor of 'Rising' Hosted by the ever svelte NATHAN PENLINGTON/ discs of darkness spun by DAVID BUSH Every Thursday @ The Camden Head, Camden Walk, Islington, London, N1
SHORTFUSE - Thursday 27th November
magazine spins tales that combine social history with a healthy
interest in smut.
SARAH KOBRINSKY - a full set from the winner of our POETRY IDOL 2
contest, sultry soulful spokenword that bristles with insight.
SALLY SMITHSON - warm and comic performance poetry sparkling with
imagery.
IMOGEN SALT - acutely observed poetry performed with an honesty that
cuts to the literary bone.

tim wells (24.11.03 15:16) looking forward to this one, I'll be doing alt and a fair bit of new material I beat into shape on my recent trip to NYC. Great to be reading with 3 such lovely women too! The new issue of Rising, edited by Imogen Salt and Sarah Kobrinsky and entitled Dripping should be available hot of the presses too. |

(28.11.03 15:49) Another great night, with all poets on top form. First up was Heather Taylor, standing in at last minute for Sally Smithson who was unfortunately ill and unable to attend, a great performance that even included the eating of banana. Imogen Salt did some new poems about her recent travels through India. After the interval was SHORTFUSE POETRY IDOL winner Sarah Kobrinsky, who's performance was confident and assured. Then finally the man they call Tim Wells, doing a mixture of old and new stuff, proving why he is Tim Wells. |

gareth (5.12.03 16:57) Heather's wiggle, Imogen's legs, Kobrinsky's big busted attitude, and nothing about Tim physically at all... it worked for me! |
