SHORTFUSE
an electrifying weekly fusion of stand-up poetry and spokenword
Over August London's only weekly fusion of stand-up poetry, performance comedy and spokenword, is taking a break from our home at The Camden Head and once again will feature at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Three of the UK's most innovative spoken-word artists, Suzanne Andrade, Rhian Edwards and Nathan Penlington, tear-up the boundaries of page and stage with a slickly staged scrapbook cabaret featuring twilit tales of woe and weird wonder, curious conjouring that will baffle and confound, celestial song and animations most strange. Rhian Edwards: 'Astounding performances that get you in the emotional gut' - The Verb, BBC Radio 3 'An exceptional writer and one of the most compelling performers on the spokenword stage' - Hugo Williams, Times Literary Supplement. Nathan Penlington: 'A natural performer, witty, inventive, stylish and original' - Robert Newman. 'Sensation' - The Guardian Suzanne Andrade: 'Hypnotically brilliant, reminds me of William Burroughs and his strange stories' - Mixing It, BBC Radio 3 'You have applied a little first aid to my aged and failing body with your beautiful strange poetry' - Tony Hart Exhibited Daily! Throughout the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 3rd - 28th August 2006 (not 16th) - 4pm at Sweet ECA, Edinburgh College of Art, Lauriston Place.
